IAMBE is seeking a talented early-career Marketing and Administration Officer to assist in the promotion of IAMBE’s services

The Institute of Australia Middle East Business and Education (IAMBE) is seeking a talented early-career Marketing and Administration Officer to assist in the promotion of IAMBE’s services and the conduct of the Institute’s business. The position is casual (10 hours per week) for a fixed term of 8 weeks. There may be an opportunity to extend the employment contract beyond the initial time period.

 

Role description:

- Writing advertising, promotional and marketing materials for the Institute’s services and products

- Publishing material on a range of social media and other online platforms

- Engaging and building relationships, through IAMBE’s social media channels, with other users

- Assisting the General Manager to maintain relationships with past and current clients, including members of the foreign diplomatic corps in Canberra

- Assisting the General Manager with research and speechwriting tasks related to the business of the Institute

- Miscellaneous office administration tasks

 

The successful candidate will:

- Be a motivated and creative communicator, unafraid to use their initiative in consultation with the General Manager

- Have demonstrated high level written and verbal English language communication skills in professional contexts

- Be in the process of studying a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or other relevant communications field; or have recently graduated

- Have an impressive portfolio of marketing, advertising and/or public relations work samples, appropriate to the early stages of a career

- Be a seasoned user of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and have an understanding of how they can be used for marketing and promotions

- Be highly computer literate

 

While a second language is not necessary for this role, much of IAMBE’s work involves the Arabic language and, as such, candidates who have Arabic language skills or a demonstrated interest in learning Arabic will be viewed favourably.

 

The successful candidate will be paid a base rate of $22/hour, with additional financial incentives payable if certain sales targets are met. The successful candidate would also receive a 50% discount on the cost of any IAMBE Arabic language courses they might choose to take.
